The staff at the visitor's center are amazing. They set up a table outside for us and had our 3 year old go hunt down a bunch of objects from the local trails to glue onto a pine cone. We ended up with acorns, pine needles, snake grass, moss, sticks, and seed pods. It looked like a pretty cool alien when we were finished (because that is what aliens look like, in case you were wondering).

Our kid had so much fun here. Much thanks to the visitor center staff!

A great place to visit

Open seasonally and cooperatively run between BLM and Corp of Engineers. Not the world's biggest visitor center, but very cozy, quaint, and definitely something for the whole family. Indoor displays and activities. Trails and a playground outside. Good fishing and birding. Plenty of parking.

This is a beautiful place with a lot of fun activities. There is a medium sized playground.
